Or even the next 500...blasted numbers...

Derwood Bowen - May 31, 2011

I never imagined I would've been asked to be part of something on the main FuMP! This was awesome, and I am humbled that you all wanted me to be a part of this! Thank you again!

carlau - May 31, 2011

love the verse that rhymed akuna matada, harry potter and fodder. nice. i'm so impressed with Bob's job mixing this mass of files together. kudos!

gamerchick - May 31, 2011

It was an honor to be involved in such a fun project. The finished version is even better than I imagined! Bob, you really outdid yourself - I can't even begin to guess how much work this must have been...

raymondandscum - May 31, 2011

I love it when a plan comes together!

ProjectSisyphus - May 31, 2011

Thank you all so much for your nice comments. Mike, your check is in the mail. The truth: I got waaay in over my head with this and after a while it became apparent I didn't know what I was doing. I DID initially try to make it sound like it was all recorded in the same place, which was easy with the artists that sent nice clean dry tracks, but apparently some Fumpers - you know who you are - have found it convenient to set up their recording studio under a freeway overpass or at the airport.

For those who sent extra material, jokes etc., thanks much for your extra efforts, but there just wasn

madmanOTL - May 31, 2011

Congrats on hitting #500. I can imagine how difficult this was to write and put together as it involved so much.

Insane Ian - May 31, 2011

An incredible milestone. Thanks for letting me be a part of it! As requested, I shall now shut up.

onib - May 31, 2011

Sorry for the triple-post. It looks like pressing "refresh" sometimes posts again for you.

onib - May 31, 2011

Wow! This was unbelievable. Everyone truly outdid themselves. I'm so happy that I spent the last week celebrating the milestone by re-listening to all 29+ hours of all of the other FuMP songs (including both versions of "Christian Bale's Chipmunk" and "My Name Is Not Merv Griffin" for extra points). That made every reference even more meaningful. Again, I say "Wow!"

EclecticLee - May 31, 2011

Thanks to Devo Spice for coming up with the idea, Luke for writing it, Bob Emmet for making it work, and all the FuMP & Sideshow artist for providing 4+ years of funny songs! Now, please fix the cheese and bacon link at the very end of the lyrics by removing the "1" at the end. I was very confused by it going to "Blow Me Down" (http://www.thefump.com/fump.php?id=1221) until I did a search and came up with "Angus Beef Patties with Cheese and Bacon" (http://www.thefump.com/fump.php?id=122).

dino-mike - May 31, 2011

Can you believe the world we live in now where artists from all over the world can make a song together and never have met one another??? Technology is crazy!!! And I must give a HUGE hats-off to Bob Emmet for somehow making this sound like it was all recorded in the same cramped recording studio! He truly is an auditory sensei! Freaking bravo everyone!!!

wildcard9 - May 31, 2011

So at which con is everyone getting together to record the music video for this song??

Click the LYRICS button to read the lyrics, complete with links to all of the 90 songs and other related things that are referenced in the song. Thanks to everybody involved, especially Bob Emmet. I'm glad you all like it. :)

Alchav - May 31, 2011

What's the FuMP?

seamonkey - May 31, 2011

I'm like the Ringo of the FuMP: I'm just happy to be here! But with all proceeds going to help little Kenzie, I'm actually honored! Good job, FuMPers.

wildcard9 - May 31, 2011

I need to calculate how long it will take to play all of the referenced songs here. I don't think that I have enough time. Congratulations to everyone for making it to 500 main stage songs!!

mrjuju - May 31, 2011

Oh this will be on Saturday's podcast. Well done guys, and hurry up on the next 400.

DJ Particle - May 31, 2011

Thank you for letting me be a part of this! It came out great! :)

devospice - May 31, 2011

This song makes me very very happy. :)

maxgoof - May 31, 2011

What DJ Particle said. It was an honor to be a part of this.

PowerSalad - May 31, 2011

Salad Challenge: I donated $100 to Kenzie. You do eet too. Hey and if you can't, that's OK! But give what you can - as a parent it makes me queasy thinking if my child had something like this. As Cosby said, "For those of you with or without children, you'll understand". And as Emo Philips said, "a truck!" There's Good FuMPin' Tonight. Glad to be part of this group of steamed - er, esteemed folks. TIIIIIIILE!

mrwompy - May 31, 2011

Great song!! And congratulations on hitting the 500 mark! (And that doesn't even include the Sideshow songs ... right?)

gingorninja - May 31, 2011

@mrwompy: no, if it was includng sideshow songs, it would be the 1259th song posted at the fump

THE_EMO - May 31, 2011

Unholy hell! Congratulations on that incredible benchmark! All the references made going back and listening to the songs when I was shown this haven of dementia even more worth it. Grats and thanks for all your hard work!

devospice - May 31, 2011

@Igneous Pirate, actually the ID numbers are a little off. Checking the database there are 760 songs marked as "approved", which includes the one that goes live tomorrow.

MarlinsGirl - May 31, 2011

Awesome song. It gave me goose bumps.

chicagofan76 - May 31, 2011

i posted this on my facebook page

xirkerate - Jun 1, 2011

Well done on hitting 500! Am off to donate what I can to Kenzie. :)

Professor Incubus - Jun 1, 2011

Four cheers for four years!! Bravo everyone!!! And congratulations on four years of putting smiles on peoples faces!

Mr. Goodwraith - Jun 2, 2011

I too am very honored to have been even a five-word part of this, and I'm surprised and really really happy with the way it turned out. Except, maybe, for Balder and ShoEboX getting so badly out of sync there at the beginning. :-D

Jeff Reuben - Jun 2, 2011

Congrats on hitting 500, a fitting tribute!

Spaff.com - Jun 2, 2011

Woo-hoo!

Next milestone: 500 comments on this song.

TVsKyle - Jun 3, 2011

That was huge and awesome and gets better with subsequent listenings. Additional song referenced: I'm singing my part Gravy-style.

davewhite - Jun 3, 2011

An excellent effort by a group of very talented persons. Congratulations on your success!!

ProjectSisyphus - Jun 3, 2011

Mr Goodwraith - yeah, you're right, but in their defense, they didn't get to hear each other; cross-country real-time recording collaboration still eludes us until we can figure out how to make electrons travel faster than the speed of light. Because we evidently have the brainpower of squid, Luke and I didn't figure out that this would be a problem until it was too late. We were left to try to piece together the varied phrasing interpretations of a hundred-odd FuMP artists, many of whom under the influence of various controlled substances. Devo's working on that electron speed issue though.

Adam - Jun 3, 2011

The secret is actually very simple: you don't try to speed up the electrons, YOU SLOW DOWN THE LIGHT!

Zahooee - Jun 4, 2011

This is truly, truly awesome. You all will just have to take the standing O as a matter of faith.

CaptNova - Jun 5, 2011

Listen to this song I laughed and I cried. This song is more epic then the epic video game medley. I would love to see this in concert. The FuMP is full of win.

EclecticLee - Jun 8, 2011

Thanks to the appropriate version for fixing that link in the lyrics.

voiceroy - Jun 9, 2011

That was more fun to listen to than something that's really fun to listen to. Congrats to The FuMP and all its fellow FuMPers on 4 years of funny music.

HensonFan50 - Jun 24, 2011

Hey FUMPSTERS! You just made my day, no my year. Thanks to you all for the 500th WE ARE THE FUMP. I love it. It made me laugh and smile. How proud I am to know you. Keep up the joy and kindness and most of all humor. You make the world a better place for you and me. I should like to write WE ARE THE FANS, but Luke's got all the brilliance in the family. love MOMSKI

Angelastic - Jul 13, 2011

This is 500x concentrated awesomeness.

Angelastic - Jul 13, 2011

And what's more, I just noticed it came out on my birthday (I'm listening to it the first time now, because I get too much new music and I listen to it randomly mixed in with the least-recently-played old music.)
