Really straightforward -- this began in a thread on a comic book forum, http://forums.comicbookresources.com/showthread.php?t=82458, that asked: How would the Mighty Thor reinterpret contemporary pop hits? I decided to rewrite the country classic "Rocky Top". I did this song awhile ago, but I've only performed it, like, once.

"Aye, and tis a righteous axe at that"! Throw another herring on the grill and bow before the mighty Tom Smith, the Norse god of Filk! Your skit before the song is awesome, though ABBA was Swedish, not Norwegian. Now passeth me thou your mead, I thirst much for more Tom Smith!

Oh dear lord.... Tom, this is, I think, OFFICIALLY THE WEIRDEST SONG you've yet written - and you've written some weird ones!! Keep it up, and watch out for Thor and Marvel - hope they have a sense of humor!

Wildcard9: "Oh, and I somehow want to make an amv for this using the Marvel Comics version of Thor and the Warriors Three" You should! That would rock

I heard this on Luke's show right before I went to bed before PenguiCon, then heard this live at PenguiCon itself. It verily rocks!

saganth wrote: "Oh dear lord.... Tom, this is, I think, OFFICIALLY THE WEIRDEST SONG you've yet written". So you mean weirder then Art Paul's 'Everybody get Weird" or Luke Ski's "OMGWTFBBQ"? It is possible....keep the weirdness commin', Tom!!!

Comic superheroes square-dancing? Strangely, it works!

what the flying? my brain can't parse this. but it makes me smile. big. I wrote one called 'Atomic War Hammer,' but it is very much not this, and not funny. and banjo free. and not dolphin safe.
