Just over year ago I had a choice to make: Which TV show should my
January FuMP song be about, "Lost" or "24"? I ended up choosing the
show that decided not to have a season at all in the year 2008
following the writer's strike. So much for being topical. I guess the
island was mad at me, and was punishing me for my lack of faith. This
song features Jared Ringold of
Possible
Oscar on drums, Bob
Emmett of Project Sisyphus providing the
rest of the music and mixing, and Carrie Dahlby with background
vocals, arranging, and coaching, culminating in the ginchiest clam bake
this side of the Orchid station. It also features Josh Rasey as Dr.
Jack Shepard, George Macas Jr. as 'Some Guy', Matt Duhan as Hurley, the
rest of Economy Class Glee Club: Sara Trice, Ken Sherlock, Ellen Macas,
Michael and Ian Nixon, Tim and Margie Winslow, Pete Wenglowsky, and
Caroll 'Mom Ski' Pearson.

Yeah, I don't watch TV much (don't expect me to do any TV parodies, then) but I can tell a lot of work went into this. Nice going with the Beach Boys sound.

Great song! (And I've never seen the show, either.) Love the beach music style.

I'm glad you chose Lost. Already heard a song about 24.
madmanOTL - Jan 20, 2009
Makes me wish I knew more about Lost to understand everything in the song. Sounds great.

awesome job luke! last year i tried to get Devospizo to rap about this show over the Land of the Lost theme. that wouldn't have been nearly as good as this - besides where would i get a banjo?

I haven't seen the show, either, but I loved the Rush and Crocodile Dundee jokes. Good work on the song, too.
Berimon - Jan 22, 2009
Unlike everyone else, I have seen the show (way to much). However, I loved the song too.
filkertom - Jan 23, 2009
I have not seen the show, and don't want to be spoiled. Otherwise, I would say: Whoo-hoo!
Spaff.com - Jan 28, 2009
Perhaps I shouldn't admit to this crowd that I've never seen a single episode of Lost, but I can still spot a great fanboy surf rocker when I hear one. Nice job, all of ya.
Incidentally, Bob Emmet is becoming so essential to the Funny Music Project that we should probably rename this the Project Sisyphus Project.
