About Rick Cormier
Rick Cormier was a musician for many years, before turning to comedy. A friend invited him to a comedy show, at which the sound system was so bad, the audience could barely make out what the comics were saying. Rick told his friend that he owned a professional sound system and, that he should hire him to run the sound for the comedy shows. That was the start of Rick's journey into comedy.
All his life, people have told Rick he should be a comedian. His comic writing began in 2005, when he submitted a song parody to Amiright.com, to much acclaim. He began writing more parodies and, soon he was one of the most popular writers on the site, competing with (and always losing to) his good friend Spaff.
Rick then began recording his parodies and posting them on SoundClick.com, where many of his recordings have reached the top 50 in the charts. Rick's impersonations of Elvis Presley, Tom Jones, Louis Armstrong, Bob Dylan, Neil Diamond, Arnold Schwarzenegger and John Lennon (among others) are considered some of the best out there. His lyrics have been quoted and dissected in E-zines around the world.
Rick also records other comics, making CDs they can sell at their shows and, has recorded comics for XM/Serius radio.
Rick's stand-up has been described as fresh, new and hilarious. He continues to make a name for himself in the Boston area, performing at many of the top comedy clubs.
