About Rhythm Bastard
Bursting on the scene with a set that spans all through out time, space, and rock, the Rhythm Bastard brings his mix of filk, punk and garage rock to Stony Brook. From material ranging from robots to Team Fortress to webcomics, it’ll be guaranteed good times for all.
Rhythm Bastard writes songs for the internet series Dino Hunter M.D., also showing at I-Con, and his song “Radio Days” was featured on the soundtrack to zombie adventure game The Sagittarian 3.
You can catch his music and ramblings at his website, Rhythm Bastard’s Bunker.
Back in 2005, a young man first played "I Wanna Be Sedated" by The Ramones on Harmonix's very first Guitar Hero game. The rest is history in the writing.
In 2008, I started a blog, The Rhythm Bastard Experiment to catalog my progress learning the songs from the Rock Band series of games. Eventually I decided to make my own music.
My shows are very spartan, with me playing guitar and singing, with a laptop playing the backing tracks, as inspired by nerdcore artists such as MC Lars and MC Chris.
I'm looking to score a couple gigs because I want the experience of playing live, getting my music out there, and seeing new places.
As a child from the late 90's early 00's, I grew up on a lot of pop punk bands from that era, like Blink 182, Green Day, and Sum 41. That's been the gateway drug into older and harder stuff like the Dead Kennedys, the Clash, and Iggy Pop, and they've all found their way into my music.
