Hoist the Jolly Roget's

Oh I wanted to write a pirate song
Cause everyone loves a pirate song
And everyone has a pirate song
But me.
So I sat at the keys and wracked my brain,
Tried real hard, but nothin' came,
Cause I've never sailed the Spanish Main
Nor even been to sea.

I spent half of February
With my rhyming dictionary
But I'm too contemporary
(Ordinary...sedentary...)
What good to me is poetry?
I want to see some piracy!
Then the powers that be transported me
To 1683!

SFX magical explosion, sea and deck sounds, pirates making surprised exclamations.

The pirates said they had no use
For a lubber on a pleasure cruise
But I told them all about my muse
And quickly they were pleased.
SFX: "pleased" arrhs.

Cause every pirate loves a song
And every pirate needs a song
And every pirate had a song
But these.
SFX: "sad" arrhs

They said �Write us up a chorus
And we'll kill you if you bore us!�
But I still had my thesaurus
There at least.
They said, �Praise us and acclaim us,
Til our ship is rightly famous,
And our crew and vessel's name is
Known across the seven seas!�

Spoken: All right, guys. I did my best. Hope you like it.

And it's a good ship, a fine ship,
A jolly ship, a bonny ship,
A tall ship, a strong ship,
A sound ship, a worthy ship!

A great ship, a grand ship,
A proud ship, a splendid ship,
A prize ship, a prime ship,
A choice ship, a model ship!

A mighty ship, a noble ship,
An able ship, a regal ship,
A sterling ship, a brilliant ship,
A pleasing ship, a super ship!

A lovely ship, a handsome ship,
A fair ship, a pretty ship,
A bright ship, a shining ship,
A fetching ship, an appealing ship!

A majestic ship, a glorious ship,
A terrific ship, a tremendous ship,
A stupendous ship, a peerless ship,
A magnificent ship, a classy ship!

An outstanding ship, an exquisite ship,
An exemplary ship, an auspicious ship,
An eminent ship, a prominent ship,
An important ship, a notable ship!

A laudible ship, a likable ship,
A lovable ship, an admirable ship,
A remarkable ship, a redoubtable ship,
A formidable ship, a commendable ship!

A sublime ship, a felicitous ship,
An exalted ship, a peerless ship,
A valid ship,
Spoken: Wait, did I say "peerless" twice?
A cogent ship,
Aaaaugh!
SFX: Rob thrown overboard.

Well they threw me overboard to drown
And just as I was going down
I heard that magic portal sound
And safe at home I sat.
But I lost my Roget's in the bang
Left it with that pirate gang
With modern usages and slang.
What will they make of that?

A tight ship, a fly ship,
A sweet ship, an awesome ship,
A badass ship, a kickass ship!

A bitchin' ship, a pimp ship,
A sick ship, a phat ship,
A fresh ship, a chill ship,
A dope ship, a wicked ship!

Spoken: Arrh, let's change the name of the ship ta the "SS Hardcore!"
