Marc Gunn Doctor of Gallifrey
I was performing at I-Con Science Fiction Convention on Long Island a few years back. I finished a show. Afterward, someone approached me and said, "Do you know that song 'Donald McGillavry'? I have three words for you Doctor...Of...Gallifrey." I love Doctor Who, but I don't know the music nearly as much as Devo Spice, who wrote the album on it (see "I Am the Doctor"). So I asked him to compose the lyrics. The song has grown in popularity since I started performing it. I'm thrilled to finally release the album on my CD "Sci Fi Drinking Songs".

This song is now available on the following CDs:

Very cool. Great job on the song Marc, and good job Devo in craming in every doctor and companion possible.

Now you see, if more science fiction series had folk music associated with them, then I would be more of a fanboy then I am. (I guess that's why I like the "Pirates of the Caribbean" series better than Star Wars or Star Trek). Great song, Marc. This makes me want to watch an episode of Doctor Who; I never have. What season should I begin with?

DJSeamus - There is a lot of SF based folk music. Look for a genre called "filk". There are songs about lots of media series. As for what season of Dr. Who to start with, the 2005 series to current is a good starting point. There are references to the older series mixed in all of the seasons, but you don't normally need to know it to follow the current show. As for Marc's song, great to hear the studio version of this. (And thanks for the I-CON plug.)
