Doesn't it seem that, no matter how much cool things we have, someone always find something to complain about? Like, some people are FINALLY happy they got Spidey's costume right for The Amazing Spider-man 2, but will complain about how Electro looks in the movie.
Yeah. Seems a bit more prevalent in nerdy things, doesn't it?

Wow... you really couldn't have timed the release of this song better with all the ASM2 haters out there. Great job.

[Kidding. It's funny because it's true.]

Great combination of funny song and sad indictment. What's gotten into us lately? Are we so hungry for some lame kind of power that we tear other works down in order to build ourselves up? Do we think the critics have somehow humiliated us if we like something and they demonstrate, point by point, why they think it should be considered crap -- and so we're determined to shoot first? Luke's line is telling: "Way to kill the next generation, guys!" And clearly there are some things about _this_ generation that should stop here. If nerds are by definition "social misfits," that's mainly because we understand what it is to be fascinated with something others may not comprehend. Fascination ... wonder ... that's something to be prized. From "fascinated" to "jaded" is a road that should never be taken.

Holy crap, this was so much fun and so very, very true. I personally love talking to pretty much anyone about the things for which they are passionate. So, I've never understood the whole "my fandom is awesome; your fandom is crap" routine or the bitching about minutia. It always seemed more like nerdy dick measuring to me when we could all be sharing our love for awesome things instead. So, yeah, the song resonated with me. Great job, guys!
