Hey there, nice people who are tired of all my recent profanity! I have teamed up with local Nashville rockstar Jenny Casey to create a bunch of smash-hit monster country songs, including this here ode to working moms. There might be one or two slighty PG words in here, but that's it. Plus, Jenny sings way better than I do, so that's helpful too. You can listen with confidence!

Great songwritin' and pickin' here. In Nashville I'm not sure this would be considered a novelty song though:)

This is a great song... but Bob's right, not sure if this would be considered a novelty song.

Why not, Mike? Seems to be FuMPworthy lyrics to me :)

Does a song HAVE to be novelty to be on the Fump? There are tons of brilliant, funny songs that play on popular radio every day....not apparently funny at first listen, nor even INTENDING TO BE Funny, but If you really listen to some of them, then you find the humor in them. I'm thinking specifically of the country genre: Billy Currington, Brad Paisley, Kenny Chesney and, of course, Jimmy Buffett all have put out happy-go-lucky, funny story songs. On the rock side of things, David Byrne, Peter Gabriel, and Paul Simon have put out some clever lyrics, and in a genre all his own, Frank Zappa has made us scratch our heads but laugh on the inside at the same time. I think Steve and Jenny's "Mother Load" is good enough for popular radio play, and independent radio play, where I can be of some assistance. Great job, Steve-G and Jenny. what a great song to come back to The Fump to, despite the fact that I'm not a mother.

This one works. I agree with djseamus that this one doesn't have to be novelty. It's polished enough to be mainstream. It also definitely speaks to a very common element of the human condition: the fact that lives don't always turn out the way we planned.

I've heard a lot of country productions out of you, but this is some of your best work in that area I think I've heard. The arrangement is full and really sounds like authentic Nashville country. Probably because it's authentic Nashville country. Good job.
