Every once and a while I gotta post a song that speaks to my core
fanbase, fandom culture geeks like myself. This song is about one of
that culture's most revered sci-fi films of the past decade, "Serenity", Joss Whedon's 2005
movie based on the cancelled-after-only-one-season-by-the-idiots-at-Fox
TV show, "Firefly". So if you're really
intertested in understanding the jokes in this song, you'll only have
to sit through one awesome, hilarious, action-packed, 2-hour movie, and
also maybe go to it's IMDB page and click around to
find out what other projects Joss and the cast have been working on
since then, which I pepper references to throughout the song. If you
don't feel like doing any of that, just pretend this is one of those
quirky nonsense songs by TV's Kyle that for some reason is sung to the
tune of "The Remedy [I Won't Worry]" by Jason Mraz,
also from 2005.
It should also be noted that this song idea was resurrected from the
notebooks of my past thanks to the commenting listeners of my podcast
"Bad Rapport", who demanded that this song become a reality last year
during the "U Pick Luke's FuMP" event. To all of them, and to all the
Browncoats everywhere, this one's for you. [And if you haven't heard my
song about "Firefly", titled "A Man
Named Jayne", you can get the MP3 for 99 cents at my website.]
Music by Benjamin "Holy crap,
I can't believe he managed to make that background track in only 6
days!" Stahl.
Auto-tune by Jace McLain.

FIRST! :) I haven't had a chance to listen yet, but this song looked lonely. I LOVE the movie so I look forward to hearing the song. [Hilariously I originally typed "siong" which my Android corrected to "Simon".] |

This song is so shiny!! Thanks for premiering it at PenguiCon, you are right: the studio version is even better (and the live premier was fantastic to begin with). |

I rather the Possible Ocsar Firefly song Captain Mal (Aiming to Misbehave). Your singing voice for this Luke sounds kinda painful |

Cool, the movie is actually on SyFy tonight, surprised I haven't seen it before, it's my type of theme. Song sounded great, looking forward to getting more of the jokes :) |
