Moneyshot Cosmonauts Blame the Elves
Nothing says Christmas like a parody of Bette Midler's "The Rose."

A little trivia: This was originally written for Robert Lund's Christmas CD, Elves Gone Wild! - but the female vocalist never materialized, so the song didn't either. But like a seed that lies far beneath the bitter snows, this thing, with the sun's love, finally sprouted six years later...and ate Steve Martin and Vincent Gardenia.

M. Spaff "Snow Miser" Sumsion: Concept and lyrics
Felice "Navidad" Hernandez: Vocals
Bob "Cratchit" Emmet: Instruments, recording and mixing

This song is now available on the following CDs:

I didn't know there were elves in Oz. Oz nerd^.

Another classic from the Cosmonauts. Spaff, I'd love to hear what it was that inspired you to parody "The Rose" with a song about elves. So many spoofs begin as puns/play on words, but I can't imagine the connection on this one.

Many thanks to all of my fellow misfit elves!

Knarf: After exhaustive research, I have determined that you are correct. Those things in The Wizard of Oz are not elves. They're orcs.

voiceroy: I wrote these lyrics six years ago and, alas, I can't remember what spawned the idea. My best guess would be egg nog and NyQuil.

How did I miss this last year? Great stuff Spaff, Bob, and Felice. This will most assuredly go on "Shillelagh Safari" this holiday season.
