I loves me some ska! Good work, guys!

Insane Ian - Jul 17, 2009

I dig this.

You just consistently release pure win, man. This turned out great. Lindsay did a great job, and the final vocals rock!

dino-mike - Jul 17, 2009

This is pretty good, but I would never call it ska.

TVsKyle - Jul 17, 2009

Please to be explaining, Dinosaur Michael.

maxgoof - Jul 17, 2009

I don't know what exactly makes something ska, but I had thought that it involved the use of brass, like trumpets and trombones, rather than saxomophones and clarinets. But that's just me.

TVsKyle - Jul 17, 2009

I've heard ska without any horns.

I've heard ska without any horns.

I wouldn't classify it as Third Wave Ska,aka Ska Punk. It's more reminiscent of Jamaica-ish First Wave Ska. Certainly Ska, though.

omgss ROTLF *dies* thats so awesome!!!!!

dino-mike - Jul 18, 2009

When I think of ska, I generally think of Third Wave Ska (ie: Reel Big Fish, Less Than Jake, etc.) Which does involve a horn section (brass, not woodwind), a very fast and energetic tempo. Don't get me wrong, I like the song... I'm just not hearing the ska. Am I wrong?

TVsKyle - Jul 18, 2009

Naw, dood. There are, like, two whole other waves. Think aboot it: The Specials, Madness, and Reel Big Fish are all considered ska bands, but they each sound very different from one another, "Pressure Drop" is just as much ska as "Sell Out". Anyway, it's not that important that this song be considered ska anyway, I just thought it was a no-brainer. I find it funny (through my reactions both here and DA) that some resist calling it ska, and then others take no issue with it.

voiceroy - Jul 18, 2009

Fun, witty song, Kyle (and musicians). It reminds me of something... I forget at the moment.

dino-mike - Jul 19, 2009

I'll accept that =)
