You know, if you had a filibuster-length name like "Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta" or "Nadya Denise Doud-Suleman Gutierrez," you'd be awfully tempted to shorten it to something manageable like "Lady Gaga" or "Octomom." So, really, can you blame 'em?
Here's a parody of "Poker Face" - the former's recent number 1 - about the latter's recent numbers 7-14.
P-P-P-Poker Players:
M. Spaff Sumsion: Concept and lyrics*
Cari Golden: Lead and backing vocals
Jared Ringold: Backing vocals
Bob Emmet: Pro instruments, pro recording, pro mixing, pro creation, pro duction, re-pro duction
*Thanks to Phil Alexander for allowing the filching of "football squad" and "six more breasts" from "Eight Babies - Eek!"

LMAO... wait... this is more disturbing than funny.. Oh what the hell I'll laugh anyway, if you'll forgive me quoting The Joker. Tis should get play on radio across the nation, assuming it wouldn't somehow be twisted by the religious right dingbats as support for their cause.
devospice - May 22, 2009
Very nicely done! You continue to amaze me, Spaff.
weirdojace - May 22, 2009
This is one of the best songs to ever hit The FuMP. Bravo!
oddaustin - May 22, 2009
Spaff and Bob's awesomeness can not be comprehended, but put them together and it's possibly lethal. I tried to come up with a parody idea for this song and the only thing I came up with was a dumb idea about a 'Poke on FaceBook' but that leaves an extra syllable so it would've been a stupid parody, but this was a great idea, awesome production, just awesome. Rock on!

this is interesting.

Thank you all for your nice comments. This song was a blast and Cari was cracking up'singing these lyrics. (BTW, the background vocals are "O-O-Ocho." That's Hispanic for "eight!" Oh, and Austin, "Poke on Facebook" is a pretty slammin' idea too IMHO.

Terrific!!! I will use it as the open for my next program. If you FUMPSTERS keep coming up with this quality of songs, I may have to start doing more programs to accomodate them all. I envy and admire all of you.

This song is hilarious!!! Great lyrics & great performance! I enjoyed it, even though I'm an old geezer that doesn't even know the song being parodied.
oddaustin - May 25, 2009
Oh man go for it! I haven't heard that idea any where else and I've checked. That sounds like it'd be great.
dino-mike - May 25, 2009
This is an AMAZING parody, and the vocals are spot on... I can't believe how much this sound like the original. Haha, Austin, I was gonna parody this song and call it "Butterface"... but decided against it, namely because it's too obvious. I digress, this freaking AWESOME!!!
peterfump9 - May 31, 2009
Wow, that is quite good! I just hope that you're not too late because the subject is no longer hot news.

Very nice, especially the rhymes during the bridge. ("nothin'/lovin'/dozen", et al)
weirdojace - Jun 18, 2009
Been going through the archives lately. Yep. This is still the best song to ever hit The Fump.

Unfortunately dated already, but funny as hell nevertheless. Great vocals too. And I really like the track reproduction--nice production quality. Can anyone tell me whom among the Cosmonauts I need to contact to see about possibly purchasing a copy of it? I'd really like to use this for one of my own parodies for an upcoming gig.

@weirdojace: much obliged. If I'm able to acquire the track for this, I might just record my version--"Porky Pig" (a Looney Tunes tribute) for the Sideshow.

It took me a moment to realize what this song was about, but once I did...I could not stop laughing. Well done!
