Space exploration is probably the most venerable topic of filk music, and it was time I took a crack at it. So here's a little exploration epic about humanity's first starship...with a twist, of course. This is an original tune and arrangement, something I am trying to push myself to learn.

Jesus Christ, Balder. After your political satire and sophisticated fart jokes, you bring intelligence and reflection to human space exploration. A touch depressing, but I love the irony. Looking forward to your brief history of time in iambic pentameter. |

Very interesting song, Rob. Glad I could help in my own way. I helped provide the Car Hop Song from the Flintstones if people wonder. |

Great work, Rob. Some funny, some nonfunny mixed in. Might use it on Dave's Music Notes as well as Podcast Fun. |

Whoa nilly.... this song gave me goosebumps AND shivers!! Haunting, disturbing, and yet hopeful... I can't help but think of The Doctor's words at the end of The Christmas Invasion: "I gave them the wrong warning. I should have told them to run, as fast as they can. Run and hide, because the monsters are coming - the human race." |

My gee-osh. This is amazing, Rob! The song sounds amazing; really professional. The message is deep and well entwined in the lyrics. The added quotes are appropriate and wonderfully nostalgic and add a touch of authenticity to the tone of the song. Yikes, this is great. |

I'm all for original songs on the FuMP, this isn't my favorite Balder song, but keep trying to get out that originality, don't just settle for parodies. |

Awesome, Rob. Your best work yet by far. I probably would have left out the Carhop song at the end - you didn't need humor to make a very poignant point. |

Created an account just so I could say "I really like this song." A little somber/dark. Very nice. |
