This cat song is based on the Irish American folk song, "Danny Boy". Many people don't realize that cats are largely nocturnal creatures. This is the reason they are most active in the middle of the night... and three in the morning when you're trying to sleep. This song is inspired by those sleepless nights. Look for it on my Irish Drinking Songs for Cat Lovers CD.

Hee. This is a big part of the reason I no longer live with cats.

Getting your cheeks licked at 3 AM is not a bad thing. (Unless it's by a cat.)

Ok. I don't like cats. I don't do Irish either (my wife's Italian...), but I've got to say I ACTUALLY ENJOYED THIS SONG!! Go figure! I really thought I'd hate it because it's a folk song about cats but to my suprise the musicianship and vocals overcame my doubts! I'm STILL not an Irish cat fan, but I AM a Marc Gunn fan!

I believe I've played this song once or twice, or rather DJ Seamus has on my radio show. It's always nice to hear Danny Boy, and now it comes with cats! ^_^

I've finally heard this and, yes, Marc, I agree....cats' tongues do hurt...." is right. Fantastic work on this song...I liked the country twang you grace to this classic Irish song. Well done and just in time for St. Pat's! (P.S. Note to Hurricane...I have not played this particular song yet. but just you wait, man, just you wait)!

This song describes our modified tomcat. Only he wakes up with a vocal rendition of what ever cats think are songs. Love the last line!

Cat-lover's Unite! Marc Gunn tells it like it is! So glad you put another song on the Fump, Marc. I'll leave another message here after I've had the Fenian feline goodness flow over my ears like whiskey o'er my tongue!
