For quite awhile now, people have been inexplicably telling me -- ME -- that I should do a kids' album. I don't get it either. But, fine. Sometime last year, I realized that I finally had enough song ideas that I could do it. The only question was, when could I possibly find the time? I've got three different other album projects I'm working on, and commissioned songs, and I've gotta come up with stuff for The FuMP, and -- And then I realized that pretty much all of the kid songs I had in mind were comedy. So, for the next little while, my FuMP songs are gonna be a major departure, at least for me. In the midst of the madness... well, okay, madness. But for kids. 'Cause ya gotta raise 'em right. Right? Right.

Several people have told me I should write some children's songs. I haven't come up with any good ideas yet. I like this one. The sound effects in the middle are awesome.

You're just a song-writin' fool, aren't you Fenton? Curse my desk-top computer for not having speakers and headphones! I will look forward with giddy, schoolboy anticipation, to hearing this little ditty after school (ahem, I mean work). Have a great weekend, Tom.

I can see the kids now, faces screwed up asking who Richard Simmons is.... Great song, though.

You know, this is a good song on its own...In fact, it almost doen't seem kiddy enough. The Iron Chef and Richard Simmons parts especially would be in one ear and out the other.

Hey, even Tom Lehrer ended up doing some educational songs ;) This one is pretty darn good though- makes me almost want to fear the fluffiness!

I couldn't help but picture Kevin from Kevin and Kel while I listened to this. And thus, webcomics get tied back into the FuMP.

Wow, that was awesome and totally demented! Safe for all the demented, little children, fun for the whole, demented family! The Iron Chef line is great, and to be honest, I could really go for some grass and carrots with mayo and cheese right now....I'm gonna go have lunch.

It's a killer!

I had a rabbit like that once. Great song Tom!

Tom Smith understands, as did Jim Henson, that if you want to entertain the kiddies, you've got to entertain their parents.

carrot flavoured bacon sounds more like a dish that would be made on iron chef instead of an ingredient but still it's a great song

Thanks for another that I can play for my kids... cuz they definitely aren't listen to MY stuff!
My kids love you Tom and so do I. Thanks for giving me demented music I can share with them... cuz it sure ain't gonna be mine. This reminded me of an album cover I've seen, but I can't quite place it.......
filkertom - Feb 11, 2008
Thanks, y'all. Seamonkey, I don't know the cover you're thinking of, but when I collect these, I'm gonna try to get Bill Holbrook to draw the cover, w/Kevin Dewclaw as Lumberin' Bunny.... :D

Cute. Although, carrot-flavored bacon?!! That may be the most horrifically wrong idea ever. Bacon-flavored carrots might work though.
