I remember the first time I read "Lord of the Rings". I couldn't help but giggle because it seemed like every time the hobbits met another race, it was the "oldest" race ever. So I wrote the song for my first CD "Soul of a Harper" to make fun of this oddity.

To be fair, it was actually a culture point that the Elves and Dwarves argued about being the "Oldest race". Tolkien talked about it in Silmarillian.

I really wish I had done a Lord Of The Rings song while the movies were still in theaters. This is cool.
