Ten years after I released the original version of "Ozzman" I have completely overhauled it and updated it.

New music by Steve Goodie. New vocals by me. Same old vocals by Luke but I cleaned them up quite a bit. Enjoy!

Devo Spice Update - 5/20/2013: NY Funny Songs Info

Hey folks,

So my daughter turned 9 yesterday. And I want to go on the record, right here, right now, in saying that I will never turn into Eminem and constantly mention her in my songs. Although it would be nice to have his bank account. But anyway...

The New York Funny Songs Fest is coming up at the end of the month and I wanted to give you the scoop on what parts Iâ��ll be playing in the festival. Iâ��m part of 2 showcases. First, on Thursday, May 30th, Iâ��ll be part of the Out of Towners Mega-Titans showcase at Santos Party House downstairs (96 Lafayette at Canal St). I guess this officially makes me a mega-titan of comedy music! This show starts at 9:30 and besides me features The Steamy Bohemians, Todd Chappelle, Jamie Brew, and Titler. Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door.

Then on Friday, May 31st, Iâ��ll be doing one short song as part of the 50 Funny Songs event which features 50 different comedy musicians. This event was a lot of fun last year and Iâ��m looking forward to doing it again. This takes place at Tammany Hall, 152 Orchard St. at 8:00 PM. Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door.

Also, keep an eye on The FuMP this Friday as Iâ��ll be posting my updated version of â��Ozzman.â�� For those of you newer fans this is a song I did back in 2003 about Ozzy Osbourne and his MTV reality show. It features The Great Luke Ski doing some voices throughout and is a parody of Sir Mix-A-Lotâ��s version of Black Sabbathâ��s â��Iron Man.â�� For this update I hired Steve Goodie to redo the music from scratch and it sounds rather epic. And while the topic is dated the song is still very funny. THIS is the song I wish I had the capability to produce 10 years ago.

This song will be released on The Best of Sudden Death, which Iâ��m happy to say is almost complete. I only have 3 more songs to update and then a couple more little things to finish. I should have it all in production soon.

Hey folks,

I got some last minute information about my show in Washington DC next week that I wanted to pass on to you.

If youâ��re planning to come out be sure to mention to the people at the door that youâ��re there to see me. Even if youâ��re not. I donâ��t care. If enough people say theyâ��re there to see me Iâ��ll actually get paid for my performance. (Getting paid to perform. What a novel idea!) I go on at 8:30.

And if youâ��re not planning to come itâ��s not too late to change your plans! :) Or if you know anyone in the DC area who might be into a nerdy show pass the info on to them.

Devo Spice Update - 4/22/2013

A couple people have asked me about my PenguiCon schedule for this weekend. My concert is scheduled for 9pm Saturday night in Oakland. (That's the room, not the city. I'm not driving to Oakland, CA from New Jersey.) If anyone has any particular songs you would like to hear drop me a line and I'll see if I can work them into my set. I'm really looking forward to this. I haven't been to PenguiCon in a couple years now. Although I'll pretty much only be there for Saturday.

Speaking of cons it looks like I won't be able to make it to BaltiCon this year. I haven't been booked yet but I was hoping to go anyway. However we recently scheduled my daughter's birthday party and the place she wants to have it couldn't do her birthday weekend. So we're doing the following weekend which is the same weekend as BaltiCon. So while you guys are off partying I'll be at a local gymnastics place with a bunch of hyperactive 9 year olds.

In other news I've made some good progress on the Best of Sudden Death project. I'm almost done mixing and mastering the songs for Volume 2. I still have to re-record "My Doctor's A Quack" and my friend Marnie has agreed to reprise her role as the ditzy girl at the beginning of the song. Then I have some work to do on Volume 3 which will be fun and hopefully won't take as long. I'm really looking forward to the "I'm Bored" update. That's going to be fun.

This year at MarsCon the great Luke Ski opened the Logan Awards with a medley of songs by Logan Whitehurst. There is now a studio version of this medley available on The FuMP featuring me in a couple specific areas. You can hear me in â��Happy Noodle Vs. Sad Noodleâ�� and â��Robot Cat.â�� And yes, thatâ��s me gargling during â��Lizard and Fish.â��

--== DR. DEMENTO DOCUMENTARY ==--
A production company is currently in the early stages of planning a documentary about Dr. Dementoâ��s life and career. The film will be called Under The Smogberry Trees and will feature interviews with Barnes and Barnes, Whimsical Will, and Ogden Edsl, and many other people who were a huge part of Dr. Dementoâ��s life. Dr. Demento is fully on board (this is an official film, not a little fan video or anything) and several FuMP artists are slated to be interviewed as well (including me, Luke Ski, Chris Mezzolesta, and several others).

The film is currently looking to raise $100,000 on Kickstarter to cover the costs of the production. They are well on their way ($13,705 as of this writing) but they have a long way to go. So if you can please go donate something to their Kickstarter campaign. Every little bit helps.
