\"Lost in Time\" Video

At long last the music video for "Lost in Time," my Patrick Troughton song from my Doctor Who concept album I Am The Doctor is finally done! This video was filmed at MystiCon last February by my father and me. It features Stephen Allen and Angela Pritchett as The Doctor and Zoe, respectively, and was edited by Seriah Azkath of the Last Exit for the Lost. Check it out, and be sure to share it with all your old school Doctor Who friends!

New Manic Mondays Web Site

The other day the show's web site, manicmondays.net, was hacked for the third time in about 4 months. It's the same story. There was some Wordpress vulnerability that some script found and injected something into the site somewhere. A couple people gave a quick look for me (thanks, folks) but weren't able to immediately see where the problem was. And I have better things to do than spend days trying to debug a crappy Wordpress site only to have the same thing happen again next month.

To that end, I am giving a big middle-fingered salute to Wordpress. I spent all day yesterday reprogramming the site from scratch. It's responsive. It looks nice. And it works. It only has the last 10 episodes because I have to finish migrating the database and all the MP3 files, but it'll do for now. There's currently also no way to comment on episodes. I'll fix all this once the Doctor Who album is done.

Also, it's going to take Google a day or two to review the site and determine that the malware is in fact gone so until that happens you're going to continue to see the malware warning when you attempt to visit the site.

And with this I am once and for all done with Wordpress. I am never using it again for anything. Period. And when I get a little downtime I'm going to redo the Cirque du So What web site as well just as a matter of principle.

I have better things to do than to continue fighting these battles.

Devo Spice Update - 1/6/2014

Happy New Year, everybody!

I just wanted to draw your attention for a moment to two quick things.

--== THE FuMP JANUARY SUBSCRIBER DRIVE ==--

If you’ve been considering a subscription to The FuMP to get all the funny music downloads your bandwidth can handle now is the time to do it.  If you subscribe during the month of January you will get one month free and a free USB drive that contains all of the music we released in 2013.  That includes The FuMP Volume 37, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, and Christmas With The FuMP.

If you’re an existing subscriber (thank you!) you can pick up the drive for just $14.99 in the store at the site.  We’re only making as many drives as we need for January and will not be selling any after the promotion is over so if you would like one you need to get in on it now.

Funny 25 of 2013

Dr. Demento's Funny 25 of 2013 just came out and I did pretty well this year! As always you can listen to the show online here. A big thank you to everyone who has been requesting my songs and helped me have such a great year on the show!

Stop reading now if you don't want any spoilers for the playlist before you hear it.

Ready?

I had three songs appear on the Funny 25, plus one guest appearance. "Ozzman (2013)" from my Best of Sudden Death compilation came in at number 13.

"Autocomplete" featuring Worm Quartet from my next CD came in at number 6. I don't know when my next CD will be available but for now that song is available on The FuMP Volume 40.

And "Companion Application" from my upcoming Doctor Who album came in, appropriately enough, at number 5. This song features a cameo by Peter Davison who played Doctor #5. My Doctor Who album isn't ready yet but this song is available on

Devo Spice Update - 11/22/2013

Hey everyone!

Today I released the first song from my new Doctor Who album.  “Who Is The Doctor?” is the song I wrote for William Hartnell’s Doctor and it’s available now at The FuMP.

http://thefump.com/fump.php?id=1748

And speaking of the album as part of my Kickstarter campaign I was offering an exclusive t-shirt.  I sold 39 shirts during the campaign.  Well, it turns out there’s a significant price break at 48, so I asked my backers if I could try to sell the remaining 9 shirts so I could save the money.  They were OK with it, so I gave them first crack at it and sold 6 more.  I still need to sell 3 more shirts, so if you want one you can now order one here:

http://www.devospice.com/shirt.html

I only need to sell 3 and once I sell those 3 I’ll be taking the order form down.  So if you want one get it soon.  The art will feature the album cover which has the time tunnel, the Devo Spice Doctor Who-style logo, and my stupid looking face.  Watch the Kickstarter video to see it.

Finally, tomorrow I’m performing at the Way Station in Brooklyn. This was supposed to be my big CD release party but alas reality came along and screwed over those plans.  But I will do a full set of nothing but Doctor Who songs, some of which will be early versions and demos, but they’re still fun.  Details on the show are here:

http://www.devospice.com/tourdates.php?id=299

And finally, I can now announce who my other big guest star is for this album!  Katy Manning who played Jo Grant along side the 3rd Doctor will be singing on my Jon Pertwee song “Carnival of Monsters.”  I’m really excited to have her on board and I’m even more excited that I actually have her recording in my possession so I can say with 100% certainty that this song won’t go the way of the Fat Boys.

That’s all for now.
